NFL and Rush
Rush Limbaugh wants to do something many people can't...be a part-owner of an NFL franchise. So why are so many people speaking out against it? It comes down to something very simple...Rush's alleged "record" on race over the years. While he has gotten in hot water with his comments about Donovan McNabb several years ago, the track record of the other owners when it comes to race is not one to be proud of, either. Why do they need a "Rooney Rule" that requires the owners to "interview qualified African-American candidates", shouldn't they have been doing that all along? Why did it take numerous reports in the media about the lack of advancement among African-Americans in the NFL to "suddenly" begin a wave of minority hiring...and why did it take over 40 Super Bowls to have a black coach win one? And the last people to be speaking out about Rush are the people he calls "The Justice Brothers"--Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson, two opportunistic race-baiters who seemingly wait for the slightest micro-mistake among people with regard to race for them to jump out of the woodwork with their faithful blind legions to protest-on-demand for something they have no interest in otherwise...and remember, neither person (Sharpton's comments about Jews and Jackson's infidelity among other things) has closets without skeletons either. The players are speaking out against the potential ownership as well, mainly blacks...but have they actually heard his show before passing judgment or are they hearing what people want them to hear? I feel anyone should have the right to purchase anything they have the resources to, at least in the America I grew up with, people could without all this nonsense...I guess the election of Obama really has brought change, the kind we can do without.

Hollywood really has lost touch with reality
It appears that Hollywood really has lost touch with reality with the recent arrest of director Roman Polanski on a rape charge from 1977. Let's review the facts of the case first:
I have some questions for these "Hollywood elites":
- Polanski allegedly had a 13 year old girl in Jack Nicholson's home (the actor was not present) on the premise of a photography session.
- He also allegedly gave the girl quaaludes & champagne, then had sex with her in different ways, each time even after the girl said "no" repeatedly.
- After being charged with rape & furnishing a controlled substance to a minor, he plea bargained down to a charge of unlawful sex with a minor. He was then ordered to undergo an evaluation at Chino prison for 90 days (he was released after 42), but after hearing he would then be put in jail on his charge by the sentencing judge, he fled the United States for France, who does not extradite their citizens to the US (Polanski has French citzenship).
I have some questions for these "Hollywood elites":
- Would you be so apt to request the release of a rape suspect if it was YOUR 13-year-old daughter he allegedly committed these crimes against, even if it was 32 years ago?
- How do you think your "public image" would be affected by your support of a convicted child rapist?
- Give me ONE valid, legitimate reason (not that Switzerland is a neutral country, which is irrelevant) why Polanski should be released? Remember the outrage of the early release of the Lockerbie bomber by Scotland on "humanitarian grounds"...

Welcome!
Welcome to the Indepservative Times, a blog for those who feel they do not identify with a specific party, but have the fiscal & social conservative principles that it seems most Americans do now. I love to blog about the government and its' mistakes/kudos, regardless which party is running the country. I look at it from the perspective of WWTFFD (What Would The Founding Fathers Do). I hope you enjoy it, remember the first amendment applies here, if anyone comments please make sure to keep it clean, no personal attacks or racism will be tolerated. Have fun!
